Practice The Word
James 1:22 MSG
Don’t fool yourself into thinking that you are a listener when you are anything but, letting the Word go in one ear and out the other. Act on what you hear!
_______________________
The word of God is clear on what our part is in the things of God. He says, we should act on whatever it is we hear. Answers to many of our prayers lies in simple obedience to God’s word. Lest I forget; the word “act” simply means “act” i.e to take actions..
At this juncture, you might want to say we need grace to do what the word says. Emphatically Yes! And that’s why in the first place our salvation was by grace through faith in Christ and no believer is without the required measure of grace.
Few things The Word told us to act upon;
– be humble, gentle and patient. Eph 4:2
– make effort to keep the unity of spirit. Eph 4:3
– be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to be angry. James 1:19
-put off anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication. Col 3:8
– bear with each other, forgive as Christ forgave you. Col 3:13
– put on love. Col 3:14. ETC
Luk 6:49 MSG “But if you just use my words in Bible studies and don’t work them into your life, you are like a dumb carpenter who built a house but skipped the foundation. When the swollen river came crashing in, it collapsed like a house of cards. It was a total loss.”
CONFESSION
I do not fool myself. I am a doer of the Word and I act on it daily. Amen!
You are blessed!
