Why Do We Need to Go to Church
Hebrews 10:25
Some people have given up the habit of meeting for worship, but we must not do that. We should keep on encouraging each other, especially since you know that the day of the Lord’s coming is getting closer.
What is it about our meeting together? What is wrong in reading, studying the Bible and praying alone?
There is nothing so wrong in doing all of the above. However, there must be an understanding that there is much more in meeting collectively in worship. Beyond the fact that this is an instruction from the written word never to give up that habit, there are things one won’t get alone except you get from and get sharpened by other believers and further get imparted by them. Paul says to the Romans ” For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end thay ye may be established;” (Romans 1: 11), also he further said our coming together makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.
Also, understand basically that the church is a family where yours and other member’s needs are met; We are created for community, the Bible talks about we striving together with one mind for the faith of the Gospel (Phil.1:27). Believers must be forward to do good especially to them that are of the household of faith. Henceforth, see church as a home, a place to share what you have and impart others. You are a member of Christ’s body.
CONFESSION
