Born of The Spirit

2 Corinthians 1:22

” Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.”

One of the reality of Christ’s finished works, is the Holy Spirit we have received or rather given unto us upon Jesus Christ resurrection.

Jesus made an emphatic statement in John 7:38&39 “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)” So the Holy Spirit was to be given upon his glorification, which is his resurrection and ascension sitting on the right hand of God.

In order words, the Holy Spirit is received when a man believes the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ… This was parallel to the statement Jesus made to Nicodemus; ” Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” (John 3: 5). Hence, to be born again is to be born of the Spirit; ” But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.” (Romans 8: 9).

This one reality the believer must not trade with, when he his born again, he his born of of the Spirit, he now has the Holy Spirit. Hence, he is to Center his whole being on this reality, meaning that, he walks in the Spirit and make decisions by the Spirit.
