Jesus; The One and Only True God
John 10:30
“I and my Father are one.”
The revelation of who God is can only be seen in Christ alone. Jesus Christ is God made flesh. “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” (John 1: 14). Paul says he is the Image of God ” Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:” (Colossians 1: 15)
This means, the expression, nature and character of Who God is the man Jesus Christ… So to know who God is, we look at the Life of Jesus in the 4 gospels and his revelation to us in the epistles. “For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.” (Colossians 2: 9)
Visions, dreams etc doesn’t guarantee your knowing God, we know God in Christ through the word of God revealed to us by the Spirit. “And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.” (1 John 5: 20).
Hence, we are not confused of what or who God is like, we have a certainty of How God is like in Christ Jesus. He is the true and only God. We are conscious of this, we remind ourselves of these things and we don’t see a mystery God but the God explained in Christ. Hallelujah!
