Faith Isn’t Hope

Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Every believers should have the basic understanding that faith says the same thing God says. That is faith agrees with what God says. However, where the challenge lies is that many folks do not understand that faith isn’t hope. Hoping is good but not enough. It will satisfy your emotional feeling but won’t get the job done. Hence, it’s important to move a little further.

Many people hope for something thinking it is faith they had, but faith is different from hope. Too often, many people hope that they will get healed or many hope to get a finance to get some certain need settled but from the text, it is obvious that faith is what gets the job done. It says Faith… is the evidence of things not seen, it means if you’re going to wait till you see it then it is no longer faith. When it comes to recieving what you need from God or receiving healing or answers to your prayers, the law of faith is what works. For instance, you hope for physical strength to do the job you must do, but faith says “the Lord is the strength of my life…” (Ps.27:1).

There is a great difference when you really believe God and don’t just hope you will receive from Him. Jesus didn’t say “what things soever you desire when you pray HOPE that you will receive them… – No, He said BELIEVE that you receive them and you shall have them” (Mk.11:24). We don’t hope He hears our Prayers, we know and believe He hears them. FAITH IS PRESENT TENSE.
