Faith Receives
Devotional Reading: Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Mark 11:24 ESV
I think of the metaphor of a bank alert when I consider what it means to receive. Something can belong to me, or money can be sent to me but until I take possession of the item, I don’t enjoy its benefits.
This is how it works, Imagine you need some amount of money to get some clothes and your family or friend knows you have this need. So, your family or friend sends you some cash but you haven’t gotten the alert from your bank although the money is already in it. It means you got the money but you haven’t received it. So, if you are still waiting for the bank alert before you go to the bank to confirm, it means your need still persists. Why? Because you refused to receive.

Similarly, God has given us His Word and it is readily available to receive and apply to our lives. Being Love and the Giver of all good things, His will is for His children to be more than conquerors in all dimensions of life. His Word is the answer to our struggles. His love, power, peace, and provision are readily available to any who would receive His Word.
Faith that receives is faith that comes from hearing God’s Word and taking God’s Word as the Truth that overcomes your need. As a believer, you have all of God’s promises available in His. Take God’s promises for your use!
Prayer and Confession
Thank you Father for the gift of faith. I choose to believe and receive your promises for every of my need. Amen!
