Devotional Reading: “Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action).” 2Tim. 3:16 AMP

I remember how I desired God speak to me in a certain ways those early days that I just got born-again. Earlier before my salvation experience, I get thrilled listening to others talk about how God spoke with them. Little did I know that, there is a better and saver means He uses to speak to His own.

The opening scripture is a portion of the letter written by a senior colleague in ministry (Paul) to a dear son; Timothy to encourage him and bring to his attention certain things that will help in his ministry. The very verse before the anchor text made us understand that the scripture have the ability to make one wise unto salvation. He further continued to say that, the same scripture is capable of teaching, rebuking, correcting and training believers in righteousness.

As Paul reminded Timothy of the potency of the Word of God, so also is the holy spirit reminding you today that, all a man need is the scripture; It’s from scripture that we know what belongs to us, what is to be resisted and also tells us how to live our lives in every aspect. To live in conformity with God’s preordained plan for your life, the scripture must be your friend; the Psalmist says, “thy word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105). You fall into error not because of any other thing most times, but simply because you ignore the word of the Lord (Psalm 119:67).

Prayer and Confession
The word of God given to me makes me into all that God planned for me. I receive correction daily and pattern my life on the word.
