Feed on the Truth 2
Devotional Reading: and give no opportunity to the devil.
Ephesians 4:27 ESV
When we break a bone, burn a finger, or twist an ankle, we address it by going to the doctor. Because the body is natural and it has to be fixed naturally. However, we try the same methods to fix a broken spirit, we try medication or therapy, or psychological motivations, etc. It cannot be fixed naturally. The body responds to the natural, but the spirit only responds to the spiritual. It has to be fixed by the Word. No wonder, Jesus says, Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.
The eyes and ears of your body are the windows to your soul. The bible says Faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God. If your ear keeps hearing the lies of the devil, the spirit will be starved of the truth of God, and eventually, your spirit will be broken.
The devil wants to steal kill and destroy and therefore, he tries to stop faith from entering into your ears by distracting you. We must be sensitive to these tricks of the devil. No wonder now, people would rather spend hours before screens than 10 mins before the bible because the devil has tricked them into feeding their body and starving their spirit.
David was a young and ruddy boy, but with a spirit that was fed, he became as bold as a lion that he would kill a beastly man Goliath.
