God Helps 3

Devotional Reading: We can never look to men for help; no matter who they are, they can’t save us, for even our great leaders fail and fall. They too are just mortals who will one day die … But those who hope in the Lord will be happy and pleased! Our help comes from the God of Jacob!
Psalms 146:3‭-‬5 TPT

As believers, we can fall easily into the bait of trusting men (Parents, friends, bosses etc) to provide solutions to our problems. When in need, they are the first to come to mind.

Truth be told, naturally they are expected to help us. But as a believer, we are expected to trust God more than we trust our folks. The scriptures describe the help of man as vain (Psalm 60:11). Men fail in their promises, they disappoint but God never.

Our anchor text pronounced a blessing on the one who has God has his help and who hopes (trusts) in Him – he will never be put to shame or displeased

Again, God wants to help us if we can dare to ask Him for it. He uses men, He positions men in our lives that help us in our journey just as He did for David and Uzziah (1Chronicles 12:22, 2Chronicles 26:15). But do you know that even the closest may not be ready to help you if God is not in it. Hence, the need for us to trust God’s help continually.

So, choose to seek the LORD for help, choose to trust him to lead you, choose to seek him to provide. Choose to trust Him in every season, and He will never disappoint.

Prayer and Confession
I am helped by the LORD always, and I am never ashamed. Amen
