When you can not Trace His Hands

Devotional Reading: “It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going.” Hebrews 11:8 NLT

The journey of faith requires one to obey and trust even when you don’t understand. It’s a hard thing to do. However, the first call of the believer is not to understand, but to trust, and obey.

The scientist seeks understanding before obedience. But remember that God not only created science, He also created Arts. And if you have ever seen an artist draw, you may never understand what he is drawing, until he is done. And sometimes, even when He is done, you may still need him to interpret the drawing.

Why does it happen that way? Because the drawing is the Artist’s idea. The artwork is His. Does The Bible not call us to “realize that the Lord alone is God. He made us, and we are His. We are His people and the sheep in His care”? (Psalm 100:3 GW).

So in the days that you cannot find the understanding you seek, remember that your life is God’s, and you are always in His care. Imagine that God is an Engineer, and your life is His site. What do you expect to emerge? So trust God with your life, and even when you cannot trace His hands, trust His heart.

Father, I receive grace to keep trusting You even when there is no basis for me to.
