Devotional Reading: Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. Colossians 2:15 NKJV
The scripture above is the ultimate description of what Jesus did on the cross, in addition to taking on our sins. His death and resurrection stripped and disarmed the devil and all his principalities and powers once and for all. The warfare you are in may give the illusion of the enemy having more power than he does. It may feel like he’s winning. However, you must constantly remind yourself that not only has his weapons of destruction been disarmed, but he also has been publicly embarrassed and made a spectacle of.
To make a public spectacle means “to expose one to disgrace.” The TPT translation says, “…Jesus led them around as prisoners in a procession of triumph. He was not their prisoner; they were his!” Did you hear that? Jesus was not their prisoner; they were his. We are not satan’s prisoners; he is ours.
Declare this today,
I proclaim victory in Jesus Christ, for He has triumphed over the enemy! The devil has no power over me, and I stand firm in my identity as a conqueror in Christ. I refuse to be swayed by emotions or past mistakes, knowing that God’s greatness surpasses every challenge I’ve faced. His promises are my foundation, and His Word renews my mind. I declare that every stronghold must bow to the authority of Jesus Christ! Regardless of circumstances, I choose to trust God’s truth and shatter the enemy’s deception. I am not defeated; I am victorious in Jesus! With hope anchored in Him, I walk by faith in triumph.
