This is The Work of God

Devotional Reading: “Jesus answered and said unto them, this is the work of God that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.”- John 6:29 KJV

Over the years, religious folks have established various ways in which they assume one could obtain favor from God. It’s pathetic to know that as good as their desire is and even the ways, none of such can reconcile man back unto God. This is because, works of man cannot save man, else there will be a platform to boast about.

The multitude asked Jesus about what they needed to do so as to work the work of God, in order for them to be accepted of him. Gracious enough, Jesus did not start by giving out 10 ways, 21 ways to achieve that. All he said was that they should believe on him whom he has sent (Jesus Christ). They are to believe he is the son of God who died, was buried and resurrected on the third day according to the scriptures in order to save the world of sin.

Peradventure you have been seeking to please God, living a pious life but can never remember when you receive God’s life; born again as it’s often said. Do you truly believe on Christ? Are you not just being religious? Remember, one who believes in Christ is one who does the work of God and will be empowered to live right.

Prayer and Confession
I am empowered to live right. It comes to me by default because I have worked the work of God.
