God’s Word, A Messenger That Never Fails

Devotional Reading: So My word that comes from My mouth will not return to Me empty, but it will accomplish what I please and will prosper in what I send it to do.” Isaiah 55:11 HCSB
The words of God, as spoken through Isaiah, imply that His word is like a messenger that will never return to Him empty-handed. Rather, it will accomplish everything that God has sent it out to do. God’s word is powerful and never loses a battle.
It is for the benefit of humankind, as we see in Psalm 107:20, where the writer testifies that “He sent his word and healed them; He rescued them from the Pit.” His word has never lost any battle. It is always winning forever more. Praise God!
However, there is a necessary correlation between God sending His word as a messenger and it being received and acted upon before one can benefit from it. Many of God’s words have been spoken for our benefit, but they remain unfulfilled and hanging in the air, waiting for someone to receive their ministry. It is our responsibility to enforce God’s word in order to benefit from its power.
Enforcing God’s word for our profit is like using a hammer to strike a rock. Each attempt weakens the rock until it eventually breaks. The speed at which the rock breaks is determined by the strength and wisdom of the user of the hammer (word) and the hardness of the rock (mountain). The stronger and wiser the user, the easier it is to break the rock.
The starting point for profiting from God’s word is to know what He has said about your situation and any obstacles you may be facing. The wonderful thing about God is that He is proactive and has provided solutions for challenges we may encounter in the future. How much of God’s word have you stored in your heart? How many of His promises do you know and have stored up in your heart?
Beloved, it is essential to immerse ourselves in the word of God. The answer we are seeking is right there. The breakthrough and deliverance we are searching for are all in God’s word. Let us make it our mission to study and apply God’s word in our lives. Only then will we be able to enforce it and benefit from its power.

The word of God is God’s never failing messenger. That word is at my reach. It is always working for me.
