Power that Attracts and Transforms

Devotional Reading: “And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all.” – Acts 4:33

When people hear “power of God,” their minds often run straight to dramatic miracles; blind eyes opening, the dead rising, thunder in the sky. Yes, those are amazing, but power is not limited to the pulpit or crusade ground. The early church did not just preach; they demonstrated. They laid hands on the sick, yes, but they also shared their food and money. Their kindness was so contagious that people could not ignore them. Miracles are signs, but kindness is also a miracle when people experience it in a selfish world.

In everyday life, not everyone will attend a revival service, but everyone will experience human kindness. Sometimes, the power of God shows up when you pray for your sick neighbor and they recover. Other times, it shows up when you give that same neighbor food when their pot is empty. Both are supernatural because both point people back to Jesus. In fact, some people may not believe your prayer until they taste your kindness.

Consider Jesus. He multiplied bread and fish not because He was trying to win a cooking competition, but because He cared for hungry people. He healed the blind, raised the dead, and calmed storms, but He also touched lepers when others ran away from them. His miracles and His kindness carried the same message: “God is here, and He cares.” That is contagious power. When people experience both the supernatural wonders and the natural kindness flowing from you, they cannot remain the same.

Believers sometimes think, “If I cannot heal the sick, then I have no power.” That is not true. Every time you allow the Holy Spirit to use you to encourage, pray, give, or serve, you are releasing God’s power. Some lives are not waiting for a thunderbolt from heaven; they are waiting for your hand on their shoulder. When you live this way, your light doesn’t just shine, it spreads like fire, drawing people to the God you carry.

Prayer and Confession
Lord, thank You for filling me with Your power. I declare that miracles, signs, wonders, and acts of kindness will flow through me. I will not hide my light or hold back my hands. My life will be a living demonstration of Your love and power to everyone around me, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
