The Resurrection Gave You Authority

Key Text: “And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.” Colossians 2:15

The greatest victory in spiritual warfare already happened before you were born again. The resurrection was not just Jesus coming out of the grave, it was Jesus coming out as the conqueror of the spiritual system that held mankind bound. The Bible says He spoiled principalities and powers. That means He disarmed them. He did not negotiate with them. He did not beg them. He stripped them. So Satan is not reigning like a king. He is operating like a thief with expired authority. The only power he has is the power you give him through ignorance or fear.

The resurrection did not only prove Jesus is Lord, it placed you inside His Lordship. That means you are not trying to fight demons as an ordinary human being. You are fighting as someone seated with Christ. Ephesians 2:6 says you are seated with Him in heavenly places. That is a position of authority.

This means you must stop over magnifying the devil. Some Christians advertise Satan more than they advertise Jesus. Every small headache is “spiritual attack.” Every lost phone is “witchcraft.” Every delay is “ancestral altar.” Calm down. Yes, spiritual warfare is real, but your authority is also real.

The resurrection means you have the name of Jesus, the Word of God, and the Holy Spirit inside you. So you do not live afraid of darkness. Darkness should be afraid of you. When temptation comes, you do not negotiate, you resist. When fear comes, you speak the Word. When oppression comes, you stand in faith. You are not a victim looking for deliverance every week. You are a believer called to walk in dominion daily.

Prayers and Confession
Father, I thank You because Jesus has triumphed over principalities and powers. I declare that I walk in the authority of Christ. I refuse fear, oppression, and bondage. I am seated with Christ and I reign in life. In the name of Jesus, I resist every work of darkness in my mind, body, and destiny. I overcome by the blood of the Lamb and by the Word of my testimony. In Jesus name, Amen.

Do you see yourself as someone trying to survive spiritual attacks or as someone enforcing Christ’s victory? What area of your life needs you to exercise spiritual authority with wisdom?
