Stir Up the Deposit
Key Text: “Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.” 2 Timothy 1:6 (NKJV)
Have you ever bought a fruit juice that says, “Shake well before use”? If you pour it without shaking it, the sweetest part settles at the bottom, and what comes out first may taste almost like coloured water. The richness was always inside the pack, but it needed to be stirred before it could be enjoyed. Many believers are like that. They carry great deposits of the Holy Spirit, yet those deposits remain largely unexpressed because they have not learned to stir them up.
Paul did not tell Timothy to ask God for another gift. He told him to stir up the gift that was already within him. This tells us something powerful: God expects us to cooperate with the Holy Spirit. We stir up His deposit through prayer, meditation on God’s Word, worship, obedience, and exercising our faith. Every time you spend quality time with God, you are awakening what He has already placed within you. The more you engage the Spirit, the more His life becomes evident through you.
Many believers are waiting for a dramatic visitation from heaven while ignoring the daily responsibility of spiritual cultivation. Fire does not remain strong if no one adds wood to it. Likewise, your sensitivity to the Holy Spirit grows as you consistently fellowship with Him. The gifts become sharper, your spiritual discernment becomes clearer, and your confidence in God’s leading increases. If you want greater manifestations, do not merely ask for more from God. Learn to stir up what He has already deposited within you.
Prayers and Confession
Father, thank You for every spiritual deposit You have placed within me through Your Holy Spirit. I grow stronger in prayer, in the Word, and in fellowship with the Holy Spirit every day. The life of God within me is active, vibrant, and producing visible results for the glory of Christ.
