Luke 10:42
“But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her”.
For every creature to keep its existence it must be connected to its source, otherwise death sets in; a fish remains in its habitat to live, as a branch remain attached to the vine. Also, everything that was made was by the very words of God and anything disconnected from the Word is liable to death.
Jesus says about Mary that she had chosen the one thing that is needful for life and it is indeed the good part of life which shall not be taken away from her; that is the word of life. Martha in her busy engagement to give Jesus a warm reception cared less about fellowshipping with the Word himself.
Just as Jesus made us to understand, the same applies to individual who are carried away by their work for God and neglecting their walk with him. The Lord have more pleasure in our walk with him than our work for him, as a matter of fact, our walk birth our work. If truly we are going to bear more fruit, then we must abide in his word.

In him I bear more fruit
I have chosen the good part.
