Labouring in the Direction of Grace

Grace is the ability of God in believers that enables us to be all that God wants us to be. While grace is revealed and manifested in so many ways, there is that dimension of enablement that many seem to have lost track of. Many believers become lethargic because they do not see the need to labour in the direction of grace.

In our anchor text, Paul instructs Timothy not to neglect the investment of God in his life. In Matthew 25:14-30, Jesus gave the parable of the talents. Those who traded with what they were given made increase, but the man who buried what he had received was at loss, because even what he had was retrieved from him.

The grace of God does not remove the need for believers to labour in Spiritual things, rather it enables us to exercise ourselves in the gifts that God has granted us. For instance, the one who has the grace of teaching must labour more in study, the intercessor must labour more in prayers. Above all, believers must give themselves unto the ministry of the Word and prayers.

We cannot afford to be complacent with what God has graciously granted us. The Grace of God in the life of the believer demands due diligence.

Lord, I declare that I continue to exercise myself in the direction of the grace of God in my life.
