Forgiven to Forgive

Kayode Emmanuel
Ephesians 4:32 (TLB)
Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God has forgiven you because you belong to Christ.

Over the years and till now, the church oftentimes base its living on Old Testament principles on certain issues that actually had been settled or replaced by another. For example, before the sacrificial work of Christ for remission of sin which was done once and for all, blood of goats and calves were used for atonement of sin. Just as anyone who’s involved in such practices now will be criticized. So also, doing or saying some things as a New Testament church should be considered.
To be forgiven by God before the death of Christ, you need to have forgiven everyone who wronged you; otherwise, there won’t be forgiveness (Matthew 6:12). No one would become God’s child if his/her sin is still retained. Christ had actually forgiven us and made us partakers of the divine life.
Here’s the point! There’s no wrong done towards us as believers that is above our ability to forgive, just by the reason that Christ already forgave us.. Paul says “…remember the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others” Col 3:13 TLB. Now, we forgive because we are forgiven and not to be forgiven. This is how we live, we are forgiving people.
Forgiven people, forgives people… To show people grace is to remember what Christ has done.

CONFESSION
I have the nature of Christ, I forgive always as Christ has forgiven me. Amen!
You are blessed!
