Trusting God

Devotional Reading: For the eyes of Yahweh roam throughout the earth to show Himself strong for those whose hearts are completely His. You have been foolish in this matter. Therefore, you will have wars from now on.” 2 Chronicles 16:9 HCSB

The Bible is full of admonitions for the believer who longs to enjoy the best of God on earth. God cares and can be trusted. The man who may not enjoy the faithfulness of God in his life is one who despises God in his heart by his attitude towards Him.

King Asa knew enough to depend and trust solely in God for help. However, he chose to despise God through his choices. The tension of the anticipated attack of another king made him seek solace in the wrong place. Even though it looked as though he got help, it shut the door to him receiving God’s mighty intervention in subsequent seasons of his life and reign as a king. Trusting other sources for help apart from God subtly shifts your gaze from Him, and you begin to think that you can succeed without God.

The seer (prophet) told him something profound about God. He said, “The eyes of Yahweh roam throughout the earth to show Himself strong for those whose hearts are completely His.” God takes delight in you depending on Him and watching Him come through for you in every area of your life. God is always on the lookout to show Himself strong, coming through for those whose hearts are completely His.

For your heart to be completely God’s, it implies that you need to put your total trust in Him, and you do not put your trust anywhere else. God’s power is mostly experienced when we trust Him fully.

Your choices daily speak whether you are depending on God or not. God is dependable. When God’s word says He is roaming throughout the earth to show Himself strong for those whose hearts are completely His, the smartest thing you can do is to always commit your ways to God, depending on Him solely for His help. And He will surely come through for you. It may sometimes look as though nothing is happening, but don’t be fret; God will come through for you in a grand style, and you will be amazed.

Prayer and Confession
God is always on the lookout to show Himself strong on my behalf because my heart is completely his. I am not moved for God is always working things out for my good. My trust is in him.
