Crowned to Reign, Not to Struggle

Devotional Reading: “For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:17 KJV

Welcome 2026. This New Year, you reign as Kings and Priest.

Many believers subconsciously believe that life is meant to overpower them and that Christianity is mainly about managing pain until heaven. But Scripture clearly says we are to reign in life, not merely survive it. Reigning means exercising God given authority from a place of identity, not desperation. You were not saved to cope with darkness but to dominate it with light. The crown was given the moment righteousness was received, not after years of suffering.

The challenge is that many believers have crowns but live like servants of circumstances. We complain about situations God expects us to command. We pray about things God expects us to speak to. Authority is useless if you do not know you have it. A king who forgets he is king will live like a subject. This is why revelation matters. What you do not understand will quietly control you.

Reigning in life does not mean arrogance or noise. Real authority is calm. When a king enters a room, he does not announce himself loudly; his presence speaks. In the same way, when you understand your position in Christ, fear reduces and confidence grows. You stop fighting life and start ruling it, one decision, one declaration, one act of faith at a time.

Prayer and Confession
Father, I thank You for the gift of righteousness through Christ. I receive abundance of grace to reign in life. I declare that I am crowned with authority in Christ and I refuse to live beneath my divine position. Amen!
