His Death Reconciled You

Key Text: “And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ… God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself…” 2 Corinthians 5:18-19

One beautiful thing about the significance of the cross is that, it did not just remove your sins, it restored your relationship. Jesus did not only come to cancel your debt, He came to bring you back home. The cross was not God tolerating you. The cross was God embracing you. Most people believe that they are forgiven but still feel far. They are cleansed but still feel like outsiders. They are saved but still act like God is managing them with suspicion.

Reconciliation means the fight is over. The distance is removed. The door is open. It means God is not on one side of the road and you are on the other side shouting, “God please notice me.” No. Jesus became the bridge. God is not avoiding you. God is not tired of you. God is not looking for reasons to punish you. Through Jesus, God is not just willing to hear you, He is happy to fellowship with you. He is not just your Judge. He is your Father. That is why the Bible says we can boldly come to the throne of grace. Not crawling. Not begging. Boldly.

Reconciliation means you must stop treating prayer like an appointment with a strict principal. Some people pray like they are entering the office of their secondary school principal. They start with long explanations and unnecessary fear. The devil wants you to think God is far, because if you believe God is far, you will not enjoy your inheritance. But when you understand reconciliation, you will live with the awareness that God is with you, not against you. You are not trying to earn His love. You are living from His love.

Prayers and Confession
Father, thank You for reconciling me to Yourself through Jesus. I declare that I am no longer far from You. I am accepted, loved, and welcomed. I refuse the mindset of rejection and distance. I enjoy intimacy with You daily and I walk as Your beloved child. In Jesus name, Amen.
