Then Under the Curse, Now Blessed in Christ

Key Text: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.” Ephesians 1:3

Before Christ, mankind lived under the consequences of the fall. Fear, toil, frustration, and separation from God became normal experiences. But through the death and resurrection of Jesus, believers were brought into a completely new reality. The New Creation does not live under the shadow of the curse but under the abundance of God’s blessing.

One of the most eye opening truths in Scripture is that God has already blessed us in Christ. Notice the verse does not say God is planning a blessing package for your future; it says He has blessed us already. Many believers are like a man searching everywhere for his glasses while they are sitting on his face. Sometimes we spend years asking God for what He has already provided through Christ.

This understanding changes how we approach everyday life. Instead of living with a survival mentality, we live with confidence in God’s provision and favor. The blessed life is not a life without challenges; it is a life that faces challenges with the assurance that God is working in and through us. When you know you are blessed, you stop begging for a seat at the table and start enjoying the meal that has already been prepared for you.

Prayer and Confession
Father, I thank You that I am blessed in Christ with every spiritual blessing. I declare that I am accepted, favored, empowered, and equipped for every good work. I walk in the consciousness of Your goodness, provision, and grace today and every day. Amen.
