The Most Joyful People on Earth

Devotional Reading: Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, 1 Peter 1:8 ESV

When we have Jesus, we have everything. Joy is an evidence of the presence of God in our lives. Joy is the evidence and the outcome of life in the Kingdom. Joy is found only in God’s Kingdom.

However, worldly happiness depends on what happens to us. So if all the circumstances and people are right, then we can be happy.

On the contrary, heavenly joy depends on what happened to Jesus. It is made possible and available when Jesus went to the cross. He took our sins, sorrows, sicknesses and gave us His righteousness, joy and healing. It is not based on what man can do or how much man has, but what God has done and how much He has given to us – His only Son, Jesus Christ.

Of all people on earth, we ought to be the most joyful people.

Prayer and Confession
Dear Father, forgive me when I allow worldly situations to hinder my relationship with You and affect my joy. Today, I recommit myself to You as Your son and daughter and know that by the sacrifice of Your only Son, Your love for me is unwavering and unyielding. I have no reason to be unhappy.
