Tribulation will not swallow us
By Roseline Shola
Devotional Reading: “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have (perfect) peace. In the world, you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous (be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy); I have overcome the world. “(my conquest is accomplished, My victory is abiding.” John 16:33MSG
Wow! What an assurance from the master. A few days ago, I had a discussion with a friend, he wanted to know the difference between guaranty and warranty. Funny right? But then, that got us thinking and after a while, we were able to come up with something simple. A guaranty is an assurance that something is gonna happen or isn’t. While, a warranty is an assurance that if it does happen “mostly negative” there is an insurance cover.
Jesus has given us an assurance and has got us insured as well. Hallelujah!
Jesus told us we are going to experience a lot of things — tribulations, suffering, distress inclusive — He however, encouraged us to be courageous, tap into his victory and claim it for ourselves.
The time of trials and tribulations isn’t the time to start running around aimlessly, looking for answers where there is none. It is the time to embrace reality, depend wholly on God and then tap into our Christ-given insurance policy. Glory!
Prayer and confession
Father Lord, help me to realize that I have victory in you. Help me to see you in every of my challenge in Jesus name. Amen
