Your Will be Done

Devotion Reading: “then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death, tarry ye here and watch with me. And he went a little further, and fell on his face and prayed, saying, Oh my father, if it be possible, let this cup pass me: Nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt.” Matthew 26:38-39KJV
Who says it was easy for Jesus to accept death and even death upon the cross. As the time of his capture approached, it began to dawn on him that the time of the fulfillment of his purpose had come, he became very sad and heavy hearted that he went ahead to pray that the bitter cup pass him by. However, he says not his will but the will of God. he accepted the will of God for his life which is actually the best for anyone.
The will of God can be a very hard pill to swallow but it doesn’t mean it is bad for us. Pray to discover and accept the will of God for your life. It is the very best.
Prayer and Confession
Lord, help me to accept your will for my life. If I’ve ever missed it at some point. Help me rediscover and give me the grace to follow till the end. Amen
