God Instructs
Devotional Reading: I will instruct you and show you the way to go; with My eye on you, I will give counsel. Do not be like a horse or mule without understanding that must be controlled with bit and bridle, or else it will not come near you. Psalms 32:8-9 HCSB
God instructs. He will show you the way to go if you allow Him. He gives sound counsel. It is the instruction of the Lord that brings light and direction to a person’s path. It is His instruction that brings understanding, knowledge, and wisdom. Daniel said of God that He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the understanding. He reveals the deep and hidden things, and knows what is in the darkness, for light dwells with Him.
God’s instructions contain His counsel and will. You should not live your life like a horse or mule without understanding, and must be controlled with bit and bridle before they come near or do what is expected of them.
A lack of understanding is a lack of instruction from God. People who often fail to receive instructions from God tend to find themselves being led by circumstances and situations. However, that is not God’s best for His children. God cares for you enough to guide you as you journey through life. He knows the end from the beginning. Take time to listen to Him, for He is speaking to you.
The Word of God says, “as many as are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God” (Romans 8:14). You are born of God. Receiving counsel from God, your heavenly Father, is always a game-changer for a person.
You have God as your Father. Be smart. God placed a huge responsibility on Himself by saying He will instruct you. Take advantage of that, and live life to the fullest.
Prayer and Confession
God will instruct me and show me the way to go; with his eye on me, he will give counsel. I am not like a horse or mule without understanding that must be controlled with bit and bridle.
