Spiritual Intelligence

By Tosin Lawal

Devotional Reading: Then Joseph said to Pharaoh, “Pharaoh’s dreams mean the same thing. God has revealed to Pharaoh what He is about to do. Genesis 41:25

God opened Pharaoh’s mind, and he had a dream about what would happen in the future. Joseph told him that it was God who gave him (Pharaoh) that dream and that it was about what God was going to do. This corroborates with Amos 3:3, which says, “God does not do a thing without revealing it to his servants.” There are lessons to learn and live by from Joseph’s experience with Pharaoh.

First, the life that God planned for his children is not one where things will happen behind our backs and come as a surprise to us. God is interested in us knowing the facts about the future days ahead so that we can adequately prepare for them. If it is something evil or bad days ahead, God wants us to know ahead of time to either avert it (if possible) or simply get ready to embrace the challenge of the days to come. If it is something good or good days ahead, God wants us to know ahead of time so we can prepare ourselves to receive, contain, and maximize the blessings that are to come via the opportunities.

Knowing ahead also helps to channel one’s energy to know what and what to prepare for. In the case of Joseph, Pharaoh, and Egypt, it was a season of abundance followed by a season of famine that was to come. They were able to plan, maximize the season of abundance, and prepare for the season of famine. My friend that is spiritual intelligence.

Spiritual intelligence is the ability to know the future, know what to do about the details received, and implement it in anticipation of what the future holds. Life is spiritual, and things happen. You must not be caught unaware. God is always faithful, and He will reveal things to you that pertain to you. This calls for you to be sensitive, and one way you can start building this is through:

Consistent fellowship with the Lord

Making your requests known to God

Praying more in tongues daily.

Prayer and Confession

I am spiritually intelligent. My spiritual faculties are open and I am sensitive and walk in wisdom regarding the things the spirit of the Lord is revealing to me per time.
