Thank Him, Believing

Devotional Reading: Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Mark 11:24 ESV

There are two kinds of thanksgiving. The first is thanksgiving which shows appreciation for God’s grace, and the second is the highest form of faith. We give thanks to God for what we have not been able to see because we believe that God has already done it for us. This kind of thanksgiving requires faith.

We often do this to God. Let’s say we go to or call our friend or our Uncle and talk to him to help you with some money. He agreed and said, “Okay, I agree. I have transferred the money to your account now.” We have not seen the money – we don’t even know if he has transferred the money, but what do we say? ”Thank you very much!”. We believe the word of that Uncle or friend. God said, “Do the same for Me. Thank Me before you even see the answer to your prayer!” Why? That’s because the answer will surely come when we are willing to believe and be grateful to Him.

Starting today, let’s end our prayers with gratitude because we have received what we have asked for – even though other people can’t see the answers yet.

Prayer and Confession
Lord, thank you because I believe and I receive that which I have asked for.
