Faith-Life; Trust

Devotional Reading: “And now just as you trusted Christ to save you, trust him, too, for each day’s problems; live in vital union with him.” Colossians 2:6 TLB

Children are known to exhibit certain attributes different from the adults. These attributes includes but not limited to; being free from worry, having no sense of responsibilities, forgiving spirit and total dependence on the parent. However, it is discovered that as children grows and matures, possibly because of their upbringing based on location and experiences, certain realities begin to dawn on them and thereby they lose their innocence and begin to act just like any adult would.

Growth is inevitable and anyone who advances in age with no corresponding development becomes a burden to himself and the environment. Having established that, there are many childlike attributes that should not be done away with, because it makes life a better place to be.

All of that was said to call your attention to how you believed Christ; by faith with little or no question in your mind and you were filled with the joy of the Lord. Remember how you could spend the entire day fellowshipping with God in prayer and in the word, all because of your newly found faith in God which reveals your total dependence on Him. You trusted him for all your daily needs, you were ready to go all out for Christ sake to the lost, but it seems reverse is the case now as you grow.

Today’s devotional is a wakeup call to you who have lost that childlike attitude in your walk with God. Paul admonished the believers at Colosse to walk; regulate their lives and conduct themselves in union with and conformity to God just as they did at the beginning. You began the journey by faith, you are expected also to live by it, trusting God on daily basis, not leaning on your understanding, living in the consciousness of his ever abiding presence with you.

Prayer and Confession

Faithful and loving father, as I trusted you for the salvation of my soul, so I trust that you will see me through each day of my life and I will not be confounded in Jesus name. Amen
