Who Are You?

Devotional Reading: “Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God.” Rom. 1:1 KJV

Have you at any time done a study on the life and ministry of Apostle Paul? You may or may have not done that; but have you noticed his style of writing, especially his opening words in all his books? All, except one or two had the same salutations or introduction about himself. Beyond considering it as just a style of writing, I see a man who had full understanding of himself and would always bring that to the notice of his recipients.

All in the same singular verse of today’s text, Paul revealed to whom his allegiance belong; “a servant of Jesus Christ,” his calling as an Apostle and lastly, his assignment; “separated unto the gospel.” Paul knew and affirmed in all his writings to be a slave of Christ; one who gives himself up to another’s will, whose service is used by Christ in extending and advancing His cause among men. Also, it means to be devoted to another to the disregard of one’s own interests. Hence, you’ll notice in the way he lived, he was ready to die for the sake of the gospel.

Also, he knew his specific calling and hung on to it throughout his life and ministry. He knew he was supposed to be on the move proclaiming the gospel of Christ and he did, not minding the risk or trouble involved at any time.

Knowing who you are is pivotal to your success in life in whatever you do. You will do yourself greater good by prayerfully finding answer to the question, “who am I”?
Remember, you do not need a lifetime to define who you are, you only need a lifetime to live out who you are.

Prayer and Confession
I know my identity in Christ and I am empowered to live accordingly. I live out my God preordained destiny for the praise of His name. Hallelujah
