Favor Works Alongside Faith
Devotional Reading: Esther 2:17 NIV
Now the king was attracted to Esther more than to any of the other women, and she won his favor and approval more than any of the other virgins. So he set a royal crown on her head and made her queen instead of Vashti.
Divine favor often involves stepping out in faith. Esther is a remarkable example of someone who found favor through her courage. When she approached the king to save her people, she risked her life but trusted in God. Her boldness and faith led the king to show her favor, ultimately leading to the salvation of the Jews. Sometimes, favor requires us to take a step of faith, trusting that God is with us.
Imagine a student who feels called to apply to a prestigious school, even though they think their chances are slim. With faith and hard work, they take the step to apply, pray about it, and trust God. They may be surprised when they receive an acceptance letter, realizing that it was God’s favor opening a door that seemed impossible. Favor often requires us to take action, believing that God will make a way.
If there’s something God has placed on your heart, step out in faith and trust that He can grant you favor with those who can help make it happen. Pray for courage and act with confidence, knowing that God’s favor will go before you, just as it did with Esther. Embrace this truth today and watch how God’s favor unfolds in your life.
Prayer and Confession
Today, I step out in faith, trusting that God is with me. His favor opens doors and creates opportunities where none existed before. Amen!
