Positioning Yourself for Favour

Devotional Reading: “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.” Luke 2:52 NIV

One of the best examples of favor with both God and men is Jesus Himself. As He grew, He not only gained favor with God but also with those around Him. This wasn’t accidental; it came through His consistent character, wisdom, and compassion. People were drawn to Jesus because of His loving nature and humility. Similarly, we can position ourselves for favor by cultivating qualities like honesty, kindness, and diligence in our daily lives.

For instance, consider a small business owner who runs their company with integrity and treats customers with respect. This person often experiences repeat business and good referrals because people trust them. In the same way, when we treat people well, speak the truth, and genuinely care about others, it creates a foundation for favor to grow. These qualities reflect God’s heart and draw people to us, just as they did with Jesus.

To receive favor before men, ask God to help you embody these qualities. Make an intentional effort to treat people with kindness and respect, even when it’s challenging. As you grow in these areas, you’ll find that favor comes more naturally, and people will be more inclined to support, trust, and help you.

Prayer and Confession
I declare that I am growing in wisdom, character, and integrity. God’s favor goes before me, and I attract kindness, trust, and goodwill from those around me. I am a light in my community, and I reflect God’s love in all I do.
