Making Decisions Like a Child of God
Devotional Reading: “For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.” Romans 8:14
Decision-making is where your identity either shines bright… or takes a nap. Ever said “yes” just to please people, or made a decision out of fear or pressure? Yeah, we’ve all been there. But when you’re aware of your identity in Christ, you start making choices not based on panic, but on purpose.
You are not just a Christian, you are a Spirit-led child of God. That means you don’t make choices based on what’s trending, what’s popular, or what will impress your Instagram followers. You make decisions from your seated position in heavenly places—calm, clear, and Christ-conscious.
Now here’s a simple trick. Before making decisions (big or small)ask yourself: “Is this in agreement with who I am in Christ?” For example, does dating this person, accepting this offer, or replying to this text reflect my Christ-rooted identity? If the answer is “No,” give it the holy ghost block!
Over time, you’ll notice peace becoming your compass. Decisions might not always be easy, but you’ll be anchored. Don’t let emotions make permanent decisions. Let your identity in Christ be the boss in the boardroom of your mind.
Prayer and Confession
I am led by the Spirit. I make decisions based on my identity in Christ, not my emotions or fear. I have peace because I am His. Amen!
