The Power of Saying “Yes” When You Feel Like Saying…

Sometimes, flowing with the Holy Ghost feels like He’s asking you to dance — but you’re not sure what music is playing. You want to ask, “Lord, slow down, is this salsa or breakdance?” And He smiles and says, “Just follow My lead.” That’s the power of saying “yes,” even when you don’t fully understand what you’re stepping into.
Saying “yes” to God doesn’t always look spiritual. It can look like waking up to pray when sleep is doing slow motion on your eyes. It could be forgiving that person whose name alone gives you headache. It could be relocating, starting something new, or pausing when you’d rather be busy. One of the fastest ways to align with God’s plan is to agree before the details show up.
There’s something beautiful about childlike trust. When children trust their parents, they jump into their arms without calculating trajectory or angle. That’s the kind of reckless trust God desires — not because He wants to test your faith, but because He already sees the future. Your “yes” unlocks what’s next.
The Holy Ghost is not only the Comforter, He’s also the Convincer. So don’t wait till everything feels perfect. Some of your biggest breakthroughs will come when you obey afraid. Think of Peter — he walked on water after saying yes, not before. The miracle was in the obedience, not the analysis.
So today, say “yes.” It could be a small yes, like texting someone encouragement, or a big one, like launching that business idea or applying for that thing God laid on your heart. Don’t worry about the whole staircase. Just take the first step. The Holy Ghost already placed it there.
Prayer and Confession
Lord, I want to say “yes” to You even when I don’t have all the answers. Give me courage to obey You quickly, even when it’s uncomfortable. Help me trust that my obedience opens doors I can’t see yet.
