The Reward of Waiting 2

Devotional Reading: “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles…” Isaiah 40:31

Again, God always rewards those who wait on Him. The reward may not come wrapped in the package you expect, but it is always better than what you could have grabbed by yourself. Waiting produces strength, clarity, and blessings that shortcuts can never provide.

In all honesty, waiting can feel painful, like holding hunger till evening when everyone else has already eaten lunch. But when the reward shows up, it cancels the pain of the waiting. Hannah waited and got Samuel. Abraham waited and got Isaac. Jesus Himself waited till the fullness of time before stepping into ministry, and the impact still shakes the world today. The testimony after waiting is always sweeter than the temporary fixes we chase.

Another blessing of waiting is that it delivers you from regret. Many times when people rush into decisions, they spend years repairing what they should have prayed about for months. Waiting allows God to filter out wrong options so you don’t waste your destiny on counterfeits. The peace that comes from God’s timing is priceless…it saves you from anxiety, guilt, and “had I known.”

So yes, waiting is tough, but the reward is glorious. God never forgets those who wait on Him. Your patience today is sowing seeds for joy tomorrow. When you finally mount up like an eagle, you will look back and laugh at the times you thought God was slow.

Father, thank You for the reward that comes with waiting. I declare that my waiting season is working for my good, and I will mount up with wings like an eagle in Jesus’ name.
