The Spiritual Depth of How Jesus Rose

Key Text: “And declared to be the Son of God with power… by the resurrection from the dead.” Romans 1:4

The resurrection of Jesus was heaven’s receipt that the payment for sin was accepted. Jesus did not rise like someone escaping prison. He rose like someone whose case had been cleared and whose sentence had been cancelled. Death was not holding Him because it was powerful. Death was holding Him because sin gave it legal right. Once sin was judged fully, death lost its grip. So Jesus did not just rise by power. He rose by justice satisfied. That is why Acts 2:24 says it was not possible for death to hold Him. Not because death was weak, but because the legal claim was gone.

Jesus did not only rise as an individual. He rose as the representative of a new humanity. The resurrection was not just God bringing Jesus back. It was God inaugurating a new creation. This is why the Bible says He is the firstborn from the dead. Meaning His resurrection was the prototype. He rose as the Head, so everyone who is connected to Him can rise in newness of life. This is why salvation is not simply God forgiving you and leaving you the same way. No. God raised you into a new realm.

The resurrection means you have the power to start again. Many believers think resurrection power is only for miracles, yes, it includes that. But resurrection power is also for the man who has failed and wants to rise again. It is for the woman whose life has collapsed and she needs restoration. It is for the believer who has been spiritually cold and needs fire again. Resurrection power is the ability of God to bring life out of dead situations. Hallelujah!

Prayers and Confession
Father, I thank You for the resurrection of Jesus. I declare that I am raised with Christ and I walk in resurrection life. Every dead area of my life receives the life of God. I refuse discouragement and I refuse spiritual dryness. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead is working in me. In Jesus name, Amen.
