YOUR MIND IS A CREATIVE SPACE
Key Text: “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.” Romans 12:2 NLT
God did not give you a mind merely to store information. Your mind is one of the major places where your life takes shape. Before many things become visible in your life, they first become believable in your mind. This is why Scripture says, “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Romans 12:2). In other words, if God wants to transform the expression of your life, He often begins with the renovation of your thinking.
Think about a house under renovation. The building may still look like the same house from outside, but inside, walls are being removed, rooms are being expanded, old things are being replaced and new things are being installed. That is what the Word of God does to the mind. Sometimes God is not asking you to pray harder about a situation; He is asking you to think differently about it. You may be praying, “Lord, change my life,” while God is saying, “Let Me first change the way you see your life.”
A renewed mind begins to see possibilities where an unrenewed mind sees limitations. The Israelites saw giants and concluded, “We cannot.” Caleb and Joshua saw the same giants but concluded, “We are well able.” Same land. Same giants. Same circumstances. Different minds. Your circumstances may influence your thoughts, but they do not have to dictate them. When your mind is continually submitted to God’s Word, you begin to think from what God has said rather than from what your circumstances are saying.
Prayer and Confession
Father, thank You because You have given me the capacity to think, imagine, understand and create. I submit my mind to Your Word and Your Spirit. Every thought pattern that contradicts Your truth is being replaced with the truth of Your Word. I declare that my mind is renewed, refreshed and aligned with God’s purposes. I refuse to allow fear, limitation, past failures or negative experiences to become the blueprint for my future. I see through the lens of God’s Word, and I receive grace to think, believe and live differently, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Reflection
What have I accepted as impossible simply because I have thought about it that way for too long?
