Give

2 Corinthians 9:7

Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

There is away the mind is configured to being self centered, in such a way that to release what you have with you seems difficult. Thoughts like “I don’t have enough”, “if I give this out, I won’t have anything left for myself” – these and many more pulps through our mind even has believers.

It is important to know that the theme of giving out of what God has given us reflected throughout the scriptures, both in the Old and New Testament. For instance, God’s instruction to the Israelite in Deut.26:1-3, was to give back to God first and to care for those who are in need – the foreigners, orphans and widows. Also in the New Testament, Paul recorded that God loves a cheerful giver. More so, God demonstrated His generosity by given up His only son to die for our sins.

We must recognize that we steward God’s properties, and that it is God’s desire that we spread God’s love through sharing what we have wether big or small and also asking Him to show us where He wants us to bless His work.

CONFESSION

I am generous just as my heavenly Father is.
I give to the work of God and meet also the needs of others
Amen!
