Children of Light

Ephesians 5:8 NIV
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light.
God is light, and in Him there is no darkness. Darkness is a word in the bible most often used to describe the absence of eternal life in men. The presence of the eternal life of God in us is with what makes us children of God. This is the reason why God’s word says in 1 Peters 1:9 that we children of God have been called out of darkness into God’s marvelous light. We have been translated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of His dear son which is the kingdom of light. We are saints. Hallelujah.
According to our text today, since we are now light in the Lord, God expect us to walk as children of light- for this is what befits us. We are not to have any fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness. These according to Ephesians 5:3-4 includes fornication, covetousness, foolish talking, coarse jesting and others. It is a shameful for children of God to be involved in there things for they don’t in anyway bring praise to God.
There is no fellowship, no friendship whatsoever between light and darkness. Beloved, you are of God, you are light in Him. Walk worthy of who you are in Him. Live a life that bring praise to the father.
CONFESSION
I am light in the Lord,
I am no more in darkness,
I walk daily as a child of light.
