Watch Your Speech
By Roseline Shola
Devotional Reading: “but avoid all empty (vain, useless, idle) talk, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness.” 2Timothy 2:16AMP
The way we speak and the things we say most times are as a result of the state of our hearts. A heart filled with hurts would only know to say hurtful words while, a heart filled with love would in turn speak lovely words. The bible says, out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
Also, our emotions also have a role to play on the things that we say when we’re happy or sad. Words on the other hand when formed and released can never be retrieved, they leave some impact on both the hearer and the speaker either positively or negatively.
The things that you say, the topics of conversations that you engage in says a lot about you, what/who you believe and relate to. So as believers, let your speech be edifying and seasoned at all times. Let your speech glorify God at all times.
Prayer and Confession
Lord, help me to come closer and bring people closer to you with my words and actions. Amen
