The Cry for a Fulfilled Life

In the heart of every man lies the yearning to be fulfilled in life. The pursuit of fulfillment in life has led many to pursue all manner of things thinking that in them lies fulfillment however, many are still left with a vacuum in their heart because fulfillment in life does not lie in the pursuit of doing many things. Meeting the set standards of men cannot bring you the fulfillment that your heart truly yearns for.
Some men of old have pursued money, fame, wealth, pleasure and many other things but couldn’t find fulfilment therein and concluded that all his vanity upon vanity. However, those who could see the light lived for what truly brings fulfillment and never died regretting. This heart yearning for fulfilment makes everyone want to pursue one or two things worth living for.
This heart yearning for fulfillment makes some persons want to die for a given course. It made Nicodemus to run to Jesus in the night. It made Jesus, even when he was tempted to give up, pray that God’s will must be done by all means. It made John and James leave their boats to follow Jesus. It made Zacchaeus, with his so-called wealth to, run, seeking to meet Jesus. It made Paul to endure a lot of suffering for the sake of the gospel. It made Reinhard Bonke, the great Evangelist, leave his country and travel to Africa. This heart yearning for fulfillment makes you want to live and make marks on the earth’s surface before you leave.
John the beloved, one of the founding apostles, gave a deep insight into what will usher one into living a fulfilled life when properly understood. He said in Revelation 4:11 that God created all things, and because of his will, they exist and were created. That’s profound. However beloved, true fulfillment in life lies in knowing God as a father, building intimacy with him, knowing his plan and purpose for your life, and running with it.
True fulfillment lies in doing what God told you to do. The true knowledge of God on its own is enough satisfaction. No other pursuit in life can bring a fulfillment matched that. This becomes a reality when you immerse yourself in God’s word. King David, a man of experience in the things of God, often exclaim about the blessedness of knowing God’s word and fellowshipping in it, because in the word of God, you get to know and experience more of God.
Prayer and Confession
True fulfillment lies in knowing you, father. Please help me to know you intimately.
