God is Not Man

Devotional Reading: God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? — Numbers 23:19 (KJV)

When God gives you a promise or puts a dream in your heart, it’s not just a random thought or imagination. It’s His way of inviting you into something bigger than yourself. The Bible says in Numbers 23:19 that “God is not a man, that he should lie.” Unlike humans who can change their minds or break promises, God sticks to His word. His promises are as sure as the sunrise.

Sometimes, when time passes and nothing seems to happen, it’s easy to start wondering, “Did God really say that?” Take Abraham, for example. God promised him a child, but the promise didn’t happen overnight—it took 25 years! Yet, God still came through. If Abraham had given up, he wouldn’t have seen Isaac born. Your own journey might be slower than you expect, but delay is not denial.

Just like farmers who plants, they don’t dig up the seed every morning to check if it’s growing. They water it, wait patiently, and trust the process. In the same way, God wants you to trust Him and not uproot your faith because of impatience.

You may not see immediate results, but growth is happening underground.
Many times, the enemy will use the waiting period to sow seeds of doubt. He’ll whisper things like, “Maybe you missed God,” or “If it was God’s plan, things would be easier.” Don’t fall for that. Stick to what God said, not what circumstances look like. If He said it, He’ll do it.

So today, remind yourself that God cannot lie. If He said you will own that business, start that ministry, get that admission, or have that breakthrough, then it is bound to happen. Don’t give up on the dreams He has painted in your heart because His timing is perfect.

Prayer and Confession
Lord, help me to trust You even when it seems like nothing is happening. I believe You are faithful to Your word.
