Jehosheba - Hidden Heroes in God’s Plan

Devotional Reading: “But Jehosheba…took Joash son of Ahaziah and stole him away…so that he was not killed.” 2 Kings 11:2

When the wicked queen Athaliah tried to kill all royal heirs to seize power, one woman—Jehosheba—secretly rescued baby Joash and hid him in the temple for six years. Her bravery preserved the Davidic line and the promise of the Messiah. Yet, her name is often forgotten in the grand story of Scripture.

Jehosheba wasn’t a prophet or ruler. She was just a faithful woman who used her position wisely. Her act of courage and discretion preserved the future of God’s covenant.
Sometimes, your greatest act of faith won’t be seen on a stage but behind the scenes where lives are protected and destiny is preserved.

Many believers feel insignificant because they are not in the spotlight. But Jehosheba reminds us that God sees the secret sacrifices. When we protect what God values, truth, children, purity, purpose, etc…we align ourselves with His eternal plan.

Jehosheba’s story teaches us that you don’t need public recognition to make a lasting impact. A single act of hidden faithfulness can ripple through generations. Be faithful in the background; God sees what earth forgets.

Prayer and Confession
Lord, give me the boldness to protect what matters, even when it costs me. Help me preserve the seeds of destiny You’ve planted in my generation
