The Blood That Speaks Better Things

Devotional Reading: “And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.” – Hebrews 12:24

When most people think of blood, they either get squeamish or they remember hospital injections. But God looks at blood differently. Right from Genesis, blood was a marker of life, covenant, and cleansing. Abel’s blood cried out for vengeance when Cain killed him, but the blood of Jesus cries out for mercy, forgiveness, and restoration. That is the first mind-blowing truth, the blood speaks. It has a voice, and it is always speaking on your behalf.

The devil loves to accuse you in your mind: “You are guilty… you failed again… God cannot accept you.” But the blood of Jesus has a stronger testimony. It declares: “This one is forgiven, this one is mine, this one is washed clean.” Just as a defense lawyer cancels out the claims of the prosecutor in court, the blood of Jesus constantly overrules every accusation. That means the next time your conscience drags you to the courtroom of guilt, you can smile and say, “Case closed, Jesus already paid.”

Let’s be honest, many Christians still live as though Jesus’ blood needs topping up like fuel in a generator. But no, the sacrifice was once and for all. His blood is eternal and reliable. The power of His blood is not fading away…it is fresh, speaking every second of your life.

Prayer and Confession
Lord, thank You for the blood of Jesus that speaks mercy over me. I confess today that His blood is louder than my past, my sin, and every voice of accusation. I am justified, forgiven, and accepted in Christ.
