Jesus Did Miracles as a Man Anointed by God

Devotional Reading: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.” John 14:12 (NKJV)

Most believers fully accept that Jesus is God, and that is true. But many forget that everything He did on earth, He did as a real man empowered by God. If Jesus walked around with thunder on His shoulders, glowing eyes, and a soundtrack of angels singing behind Him, everyone would simply say, “Of course He can do miracles, He is God.”

But scripture shows a very human Jesus. He slept, got tired, asked for water, and even sat down from exhaustion. He did not perform miracles using heavenly shortcuts. He operated as a Spirit empowered man.

Acts 10:38 makes this truth very clear: “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil.” If He did miracles only because He was God, there would be no need for anointing. God does not need empowerment. A man does. Jesus chose to function as a man to show us the pattern of life available to every believer who is in Christ.

When this truth settles into your heart, your faith rises. Miracles stop looking like rare events reserved for “super Christians.” Jesus modeled a lifestyle any believer can walk in through the Spirit. The same Holy Spirit that rested upon Jesus now lives in you. Just as He healed the sick, operated in boldness, spoke with authority, and walked in supernatural wisdom, so can you by the same Spirit.

Prayer and Confession
Father, thank You for revealing that Jesus lived as a Spirit empowered man. I receive this truth deeply. By the same Holy Spirit, I walk in boldness, power, wisdom, and grace. I am empowered to do the works of Christ. Amen!
