Jesus Fully Yielded to The Holy Spirit
Devotional Reading: “Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and news of Him went out through all the surrounding region.” Luke 4:14 (NKJV)
Many people imagine Jesus did miracles simply because He carried a divine badge. But scripture shows that His number one secret was the Holy Spirit. Before His baptism, there is no record of Him healing the sick, raising the dead, or giving sight to the blind. The moment the Holy Spirit came upon Him, His ministry erupted with power. This alone should humble every believer. If Jesus needed the Spirit to function, then you cannot ignore Him and expect to live a supernatural life.
Jesus did not try to impress anyone with His divine nature. Instead, He demonstrated what a life fully yielded to the Holy Spirit looks like. Luke 4:1 says He was “filled with the Spirit.” Luke 4:14 says He returned “in the power of the Spirit.” Even His teachings carried authority because the Spirit was upon Him. The difference between a normal carpenter and a miracle working Jesus was not a change of job description. It was the presence and power of the Spirit.
This truth changes how you see your own walk with God. The Christian life is not about trying to be a strong believer by human effort. It is about partnering with the same Spirit that empowered Jesus. When you depend on Him, you begin to see wisdom beyond your age, courage beyond your personality, and results beyond your natural ability. The Holy Spirit is your advantage. If He was enough for Jesus, He is more than enough for you.
Prayer and Confession
Holy Spirit, I honor You. I recognize You as my Helper and my source of power. Fill me afresh today. I choose to walk in Your wisdom, power, and guidance. Through You, I live the supernatural life Jesus modeled. Amen!
