The Renewed Mind
Romans 12:2
” And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
As a believer finding yourself in a corrupt world as such can change your thinking pattern and influence your mindsets making you to neglect and forget the fact that you are a man born of the Spirit, born of God, and the unknowingly see yourself shaped into that thought pattern of the world.
Paul is Saying the only way you won’t find yourself in that situation is by a constant RENEWAL of your mind. Your mind is the battle ground, whatever you feed it with is what you see as the result.
So what do you renew your mind with, Paul says in Col. 3:10 ” And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:” He says your new man, that is the believer is renewed in Knowledge – this not any kind of knowledge but the knowledge after the image of God which is Christ Jesus.
You must continually remind yourself of what Christ did for you on the Cross, you must renew your mind with what God had called and made you in Christ (righteous, sanctified, justified) you must come to the accurate knowledge of all this via the word of God. Also he said, Colossians 3:2-3 Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God.
Feeding your mind with all this, you will learn to know and approve God’s will which is pleasing and perfect.
