Faith Works with Words 2

2 Corinthians 4:13

We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;

In the words of papa Kenneth Hagin, he said, “It is always possible to tell if a person is believing right by what he says. If his confession is wrong, his believing is wrong. If his believing is wrong, his thinking is wrong. If his thinking is wrong, it is because his mind has not been renewed with the Word of God. All three – believing, thinking, saying – go together”.

The implication of this statement simply means that one can tell what you believe and how you believe what you believe by the words that comes out of your mouth. In the anchor text, Paul was quoting from the Psalmist, he reveals how that what we speak must be in alignment with what we believe, in other words faith and confession are inseparable.

Yes, many Christians said they have faith one minute in all sincerity but in the next minute you see their lack of trust by the words they speak. We must understand that confessing God’s word is a way of expressing our faith. For example, to be saved, a man must believe in his heart and then confess with his mouth what God’s Word says about it (Rom.10:9-10). Likewise, to be healed or to want supply of resources for a job or project, you must believe in your heart and then confess it with your mouth what God says about it. Don’t forget you can know when you are believing wrong if what you say is not in conformity with what God says about it.

So I urge you to dare to confess God’s word consistently what God says about you and what He says about a particular situation.
