Living by Faith
Galatians 2:20 KJV
…and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Faith pleases God more than anything else. The Christian life is dependent upon faith. We stand on faith; we live on faith. Faith is loved and honored by God more than any other single thing. The Bible teaches that faith is the only approach that we have to God. No man has sins forgiven, no man goes to heaven, no man has assurance of peace and happiness, except only by Faith.
Faith is the absolute dependence on what God has done for us in Christ Jesus. Faith lives within the revealed will of God found in His word. When I have misconceptions about who He is and what He is like, my faith is restricted by those misconceptions. For instance, if I believe that God allows sickness in order to build character, I will not have the confidence praying in most situations where healing is needed. But if I believe that sickness is to the body what sin is to the soul, then no disease will intimidate.
There’s therefore a necessity for us to understand that faith is anchored on the revealed nature of God — what He did in Christ. We must choose to believe Christ took our sickness away and that all of God’s promises are in Him, Yes and Amen. We are to live by the Faith of the son of God who gave himself for us.
